I am very excited to join the Baxendale Employee Ownership team, both as a Legal Manager and as a Partner. Being offered to join Baxendale Employee Ownership’s expertise and passion for employee ownership was a brilliant opportunity that I could not refuse.
I’m uniquely dual qualified, as a Lawyer, with key expertise in corporate, company, banking, privacy and commercial matters and, as an Associate Chartered Secretary, advising on governance frameworks, the roles and responsibilities of executive/non-executive directors and ensuring the company is promoted for the benefit of its members, with due regard to all stakeholders.
Over the last 15 years, I’ve been in different businesses, starting my journey at an international law firm in London, moving to a small family-owned financial service start-up and then to a global FTSE 50 company, where I was a senior leader for key trading subsidiaries and then a Head of Governance role for the Group which involved advising the PLC Board and Committees and over 150 UK/international subsidiaries.
It’s all this experience that encouraged me to transition my career to advising and promoting employee ownership. I truly believe employee ownership creates and enables sustainable businesses for the long term where founders can exit their business with the confidence that their legacy, values and culture will live on through generations of employees that are empowered and engaged as co-owners.
I can’t wait to continue my legal/governance journey, by adding value and contributing to the already highly specialised team at Baxendale Employee Ownership, which has transitioned over 250 businesses into employee ownerships and enjoyed 40 years in employee ownership.
Finally, I am really looking forward to the eoa’s 2024 annual conference this month, it will be my first one and I can’t wait to share, learn and discuss employee ownership across the community. Baxendale Employee Ownership are headline sponsors and my colleagues say it is an opportunity not to be missed.
