As many in the employee ownership space can probably attest to, leadership in an EO business can be a unique challenge. You’re accountable to the Trust, and ultimately to your colleagues as co-owners – a dynamic most leaders never have to navigate elsewhere. The challenge grows again if you add to this the task of either stepping up into a leadership position alongside a founder or group of founders who have often done things a certain way for years; or charting a new direction for the business once the founder/s have stepped back. There’s huge opportunity in this of course, but not always many peers in a similar position to talk it through with.
We’ve heard this feedback from past clients and other EO businesses again and again, and that’s why we’re launching the EO Senior Leaders Network — a peer community for the next generation of leaders in employee-owned businesses.
The network brings together directors and senior leaders who have stepped into leadership beyond the founder, providing a trusted environment to share experiences, challenge thinking and learn from others navigating the same journey.
Through honest conversations, practical insight and shared experience — the successes, the failures and everything in between — the network helps leaders make better decisions, avoid common pitfalls and build high-performing employee-owned businesses.
The group will meet quarterly in person, hosted at Baxendale’s London office, combining expert perspectives with open peer discussion, creating a community that members can continue to draw upon long after each session.
At this stage we are looking to gauge interest before sharing further specifics, so if you are a senior leader in an EO business; a non-founder / seller; and interested in the network, please register your interest Here.
