In March, we joined thousands of businesses to celebrate B-Corp month and have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare our first impact report following our certification in December 2023.
We are now ready to publicly share our current position, our ambition and our roadmap to give us both the accountability and the guidance to keep .
We are incredibly proud of our impact on UK employee ownership over the last decade, to date we have created more than 250 Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs), totalling over £1.7bn in turnover, resulting in over 15,000 employees becoming owners of the businesses they work for.
We were thrilled to receive an impact score of 108.4 (any score over zero is considered good, as it shows a business is doing something positive for society and the environment. Between 80 and 100 is great, 100 to 160 is outstanding and 160 to 200 is extraordinary).
Within the Impact Report we demonstrate how we scored in each of the five impact areas: governance, workers (we refer to ourselves as Partners as an employee owned company), customers, environment and community and have set ourselves at least one challenge per area for 2024, these include:
- Exploring how we engage with our stakeholders, in terms of past clients and the community
- Reviewing our policies and benchmarking against best practice
- Formalising our informal approach to supplier selection
- Exploring how we can utilise tools to better monitor our impact on the environment
As we share our first Impact Report and goals for 2024, we remain committed to working on our challenges collectively and look forward to reporting back in 2025.
Here’s to the next 12 months of working harder to do better!
