Now in its fifth year, the Employee Ownership Association‘s EO Day (#EODay) is a chance for employee owned businesses to celebrate together and raise awareness of the benefits of employee ownership.

The EOA has marked the occasion with new data supporting the profound positive impact EO businesses have on the UK economy. The compelling figures demonstrate unequivocal benefits for companies that transition to this model.

The employee owned sector contributes £30 billion to the UK economy annually. Businesses that are employee owned are more resilient and actually grew sales by over 11% during the recession, compared to their non-employee owned counterparts’ growth of just 0.6%. Employees are more engaged, productive and less likely to move on to pastures new when they are owners.
