Earlier this month I was thrilled to join the Baxendale Employee Ownership team as the new Legal Manager and I am eager to share the journey that led me here.

Before stepping into this role, I spent the last 7 years practising corporate law at a well-established Scottish law firm. My days were filled with advising clients on everything from commercial organisations to governance structures and commercial contracts. During this time, I was fortunate to have been involved in one of Scotland’s largest employee ownership transitions.

Back in 2022, I had an opportunity to work alongside the team at Baxendale Employee Ownership. Through this experience, I witnessed the profound impact of employee ownership firsthand. For business owners addressing their ownership succession, particularly those who are deeply attached to their legacies, employee ownership presents an ideal solution. It provides a way forward where traditional exit options fall short, which can be empowering both for the owners and employees alike.

When I learned that Baxendale Employee Ownership were seeking a full-time Legal Manager, I knew it was the perfect fit for me. Working with a team of experienced employee ownership specialists who have facilitated over 200 successful ownership transitions felt like the ideal next step in my career.

Now, as a Partner at Baxendale Employee Ownership, I’m excited to merge my legal expertise with my passion for employee ownership. My experiences as both a corporate solicitor and an advocate for employee ownership have prepared me for this role, and I’m eager to help clients who share my enthusiasm for this sustainable model.
